Vedanta is not a subject matter, a spiritual doctrine, or a philosophy - it is a method of self-inquiry (atma-vichara) based on the wisdom (vidya) of the ancient rishis, as found in the Upanishads, a part of the sacred Vedic scriptures. This method can lead you to discover your true, divine nature (sat-chit-ananda atma) and gain moksha, freedom from suffering.
Swami Tadatmananda is a traditionally-trained teacher of Advaita Vedanta, meditation, and Sanskrit. For more information, please see: www.arshabodha.org/

Tathastu: Unconditional Acceptance (with Sanskrit Hymn by Swami Tadatmananda)
Переглядів 3,8 тис.День тому
Unconditional acceptance and enlightenment are like two sides of a coin. EGO DEATH & Enlightenment - According to Advaita Vedanta

The ego can be temporarily extinguished by deep meditation or even certain hallucinogenic drugs, transporting you to a blissful, transcendent state of infinite vastness. Since this temporary state is so blissful, is permanent ego death even better? Is that state of egolessness identical to the transcendent state of enlightenment? Claiming there is only God is wrong because it denies His ability to enjoy genuine relationships. If we had no independent identity and will then it would not be possible to truly love Him, and our suffering from material association would be absurd.

Adhyasa happened with me today. I was walking in my building compound and saw the newely fitted tiles broken. I thought of reporting it but first decided to watch closely. It was a curled up leaf with its tiny twig. The shape gave the impression of the tile being broken. 😊

um swami, a very important point is that... we project the dream world with our sankalpa and ishvara projects this world with his sankalpa... this world is exactly like a dream in the sense that when the jiva realises aham brahmaasmi, they wake up and realise everything is mithya and non substantial, exactly like a dream. the dream is an appearance of consciousness, projected by us... and the cosmos is an appearance of consciousness, projected by ishvara... i feel you were misleading in that your explanation only explain ishvara as the upadana karanam... it doesn't explain the mithya nature of the cosmos as being insubstantial, shankaracarya says this world is projected by ishvara, just how we project a dream... infact shankar says prabodhe satyasadbhavet because realisation of moksha is exactly the same as waking up from a dream, you realise everything was false and mithya and insubstantial exactly like your own dreams

Thanks Swamiji. A question that I have. Everything that is know to me is not me. So there is something else outhere that is not me. But there is just Brahman. And I am Brahman. So how do we reconcile this apparent duality? Thank you

Thank you for your teachings. I have an honest question; no malice intended; I just want to know: have you reached enlightenment already? Even temporarily? Or is that a life goal for Vedanta followers? Could you do a video about it? Are Advaita Vedanta gurus "enlightened"? And what would that mean?

Swamiji Pranam and Gratitude, Two things i realized here. This is the most important session of shankhara's teaching regarding Karma. Second, for thinking about being enlightened to escape the cycle of birth and death is meta thinking.
